Description
The Effects of Trauma on the Brain and Behavior

This introductory module is a pre-requisite course. To pass this course you will need a score of 80% or higher on the final quiz. This module covers the basics of the neurobiology, focusing on how trauma affects brain structures, development, cognition, and behavior.

The content of this module is presented by the following subject matter experts: Lisa Conradi, PsyD., Shelley Hamilton, LCSW, Susan Hardie, RN, PhD, and David Love, MFT.

Learning Objectives:

• Participants will be able to identify five parts of the brain and describe their function.

• Participants will be able to explain the negative impact that trauma and stress play on structures of the brain and how that impact translates into concrete challenges in functioning.

• Participants will be able to summarize the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and adult health risks, behaviors, and functionality.
